Petzl Freino Z TWIST-LOCK - а specialised D-shaped carbine with TWIST-LOCK automatic coupling and brake lug for use with belay and descender devices.
The 2-stroke automatic TWIST-LOCK is specially designed for applications where quick opening is key, such as at the end of a self-retaining line or when attaching a descender.
It locks automatically when you release it and opens by simply turning the coupling.
The Petzl Freino Z TWIST-LOCK carabiner can be used with Petzl STOP, SIMPLE and similar devices from other manufacturers.
The brake protrusion (spur) allows for increased friction and better control of the rope on the way down without the need for additional equipment or the need to open the carabiner.
The rope can be quickly re-routed through the brake tab and removed with one hand.
The latch on the protrusion prevents unauthorised rope slippage during operation and prevents the loss of descending and belaying devices during manipulation.
The convenient D-shape and Keylock system make it easy to use even when wearing gloves.
