Petzl Sm'D TWIST-LOCK - lightweight and compact aluminium D-shaped carbine with TWIST-LOCK automatic release.
The carbine with 2-stroke automatic TWIST-LOCK is the ideal option if you need to open the carbine frequently and quickly.
The TWIST-LOCK is specially designed for specific applications where quick opening is key, such as at the end of a self-retaining line or when attaching a Petzl GRIGRI descender.
The clutch locks automatically when you release it.
The Sm'D carabiner has a D-shape (asymmetrical trapezoid), which is best suited for connecting a belay system in a safety chain.
The carabiner is very lightweight and compact, ideal for use with Petzl GRIGRI, Petzl Ti-Block or Petzl Micro Traxion, and has a special hole for the cord that holds the devices together when belaying them.
Its comfortable ergonomic shape and Keylock system make it easy to use even when wearing gloves.
The Sm'D carabiner is available with 4 different locking systems:
- SCREW-LOCK manual screw system which is easy to open, the system can be locked or unlocked as required; red indicator provides a visual warning when the carbine is unlocked; ideal for harsh environments where contaminants (dirt, ice) can cause the automatic locking system to jam;
- automatic 2-stroke TWIST-LOCK system for specific applications where quick opening is key;
- The automatic 3-stroke TRIACT-LOCK system allows for one-handed release of the clutch in three movements and reliable automatic closing of the carabiner when the clutch is released;
- without a locking system - for easy operation during climbing.
