Ice axe Petzl Quark

Petzl Quark is a versatile modular ice axe for technical mountaineering and ice climbing.
Easily adaptable to different types of mountaineering, from classic to technical, and to varied terrain, such as snow couloirs, ravines, north faces and ice routes.
Its balance and beak allow it to be held securely on different types of ice.
The TRIGREST and GRIPREST guards make it easy to use and comfortable in different situations, they provide a more effective grip on the handle in difficult areas.
Depending on the model, it is equipped with:
- an adze or clearing hooks: model Petzl Quark Adze (U019AА00),
- a hammer for driving the hook: model Petzl Quark Hammer (U019BA00).

Versatile ice axe:
- The shaft is curved under the head and the Petzl Griprest Quark (U19 GR2) guard at the bottom of the shaft to protect the hands during ice climbing;
- The shaft has a steel spike, it is straight enough to be used in ice ax mode;
- The shaft is hydroformed for optimal grip in the middle of the shaft, for snow couloirs;
- The molded handle provides a good grip, insulating from the cold;
- The Petzl Trigrest Quark(U19 TRI) and Griprest Quark (U19 GR2) hand guards enhance grip in difficult areas;
- 550 g with the Petzl Panne adze (U19 PAN) or the Petzl Marteau hammer (U19 MAR).
Effective placement on different types of ice:
- The beak is narrowed at the tip (3.3 mm) and is universal for different types of terrain: snow, ice and mixed;
- Compatible with Petzl Pick Weights "MASSELOTTES" (U021EA00) weights to change the balance and improve the inertia of the ice ax.
The ALPEN ADAPT system makes it completely modular:
- The fully modular head allows you to adjust the technical aspects of the ice axe;
- Interchangeable with Petzl Ice (U19 ICE), Pur'Ice (U021CA00), Dry (U19 DRY) та Pur'Dry (U022BA00) peaks to adapt to different types of terrain (snow, ice or mixed terrain);
- The adze and hammer are interchangeable;
- The TRIGREST QUARK guard height is adjustable without tools;
- The GRIPREST QUARK guard folds easily to immerse the ice axe in the snow;
- The connection hole is compatible with the Petzl V-Link (U083AA00) elastic strap;
- Weight only 465 g, excluding accessories.
