Thermal socks Lorpen TEPX Treking & Expedition Polartec
Lorpen TEPX Trekking & Expedition Polartec - extra thick socks for prolonged physical activity in the most adverse conditions, low temperatures, high humidity, etc.
T3 technology allows you to keep your feet comfortable and dry during high-intensity physical activity, and also prevents chafing.
Anatomical shape, specifically for the left and right feet of each sock, provides double the strength and double the protection
TEPX Trekking & Expedition Polartec are modern, innovative and very comfortable, they wick moisture quickly and have a long service life.
They are suitable for wearing with medium-height boots.
They can be used with hard-shell climbing shoes and with conventional hiking boots.
They are ideal for mountaineering, hiking, trekking and hiking in extreme cold conditions.
Technology of thermal socks Lorpen TEPX Treking & Expedition Polartec
T3+ is specially designed for particularly cold conditions with an exclusive technology featuring three different layers of materials.
- the outer layer of the sock is made of two layers of Polartec® PowerStretch, which provides strength and warmth without increasing weight, the smooth outer layer is resistant to wear, the soft inner layer wicks moisture away from the foot, keeping your feet dry and warm,
- Primaloft® inner layer is made of ultra-fine polyester fibres that are thinner than cashmere, creating a warm and soft feel and effectively wicking moisture away from the skin and retaining body heat.
Composition of thermal socks Lorpen TEPX Treking & Expedition Polartec
Technical composition: 78 % Polartec PowerStretch, 11 % Primaloft, 8 % Nylon, 2 % Thermolite, 1 % stretch with nylon lycra
Features of thermal socks Lorpen TEPX Treking & Expedition Polartec
- thickness: very thick (4/4)
- Anatomical shape (special for left and right feet)
- two layers of Polartec® Power Stretch® on the outside for elasticity, muscle support and warmth
- Polartec® Power Dry® inner layer with antibacterial properties and effective moisture wicking

Materials
Polartec ® Power Stretch
Highly elastic material that stretches in four directions from a polyester + spandex + nylon blend. It has high tensile strength and does not deform.
The unique design of the biocomposite fabric consists of two layers: a stable outer surface made of nylon, which reduces friction with other layers of clothing and increases its resistance to abrasion, combined with a soft inner moisture-absorbing layer with thermal insulation pile.
Polartec® Power Stretch® features Odor Resistant® technology, which provides antibacterial protection and prevents the formation of unpleasant odours.
The material is completely hypoallergenic.
PrimaLoft ®
A polyester yarn developed by PrimaLoft®, a world leader in the creation of artificial thermal insulation materials for high-tech clothing.
It consists of the finest hollow fibres that resemble downy threads in structure, are light, soft and compressible, and have thermal insulation parameters similar to down, which hardly change when wet. It has the highest coefficient of thermal insulation among synthetic heaters (Clo=0.92). It is soft and insulating.
PrimaLoft® is a hydrophobic fibre that repels rather than absorbs moisture. When hiking, climbing and doing any aerobic activity, your body releases sweat and heat, which leads to evaporation, but as soon as you stop, you start to freeze due to the presence of water on the surface of the body, Primaloft® fibres wick moisture away from the skin and retain body heat.
Nylon
Nylon, or polyamide, is the world's first synthetic fibre.
Its most prominent feature is its exceptional strength, abrasion and water resistance and, as a result, high durability, 10 times that of cotton and 20 times that of wool, and it is also stronger than polyester.
In the production of socks, nylon is usually blended with other materials to give strength and elasticity.
In Lorpen socks, a nylon layer is used for extreme loads, located over the entire area, and for moderate loads - in friction zones.
The strategic placement of nylon in the outer layer of the socks guarantees a long service life.
Thermolite ®
A very lightweight fibre, hollow in the centre, developed by Invista Advansa, its main property is to retain body heat like a thermos and to wick moisture away from the skin surface to the outside thanks to its water-repellent properties.
In the event of overheating during intense physical activity (with active sweating), Thermolite®, thanks to its structure, helps moisture to leave the skin surface instantly and
evaporate from the surface. In this way, Thermolite® reacts quickly to overheating or hypothermia. In other words, it is a kind of "thermostat".
Lycra ®
It is very important for socks to be able to take the anatomical shape of the foot of any size, without the formation of folds that lead to chafing on the feet.
Lycra is the best elastane yarn on the market, the material of Lorpen socks contains up to 10% stretch nylon with lycra.
The elasticity of Lorpen socks is provided by stretch nylon, with an inner elastane layer and a nylon coating.
The percentage and quality of stretch nylon determines the high elasticity and durability of the new sock.
That is why Lorpen socks retain their fit even after prolonged use and numerous washes.
