Replacement rope for Petzl Grillon lanyards

Spare rope for Petzl Grillon self-belay.
Available in seven lengths:
- 2, 3, 4 and 5 meters for GRILLON slings designed for positioning at the workplace and near the anchor;
- 5, 10, 15 and 20 meters for GRILLON slings designed for the safety line.
The 2 and 3 meter lengths are available in two colors:
- white/yellow (2 m -L052FA00, 3 m - L052FA01);
- black (2 m -L052FA07, 3 m - L052FA08).
Compatible with slings sold before and after 2018:
- L52XX (sold before 2018);
- L052XXXX (sold from 2018).
Spare rope for GRILLON, 2018 model up to 5 meters long, compatible with GRILLON models from January 2010 to May 2018, but this combination is not certified.
Explanations:
- GRILLON belay device has been certified to comply with the requirements of Directive 89/686 of 2009, based on standards EN 358:1999 and EN 795:1996;
- with the launch of the new GRILLON in May 2018, GRILLON belay devices (and therefore its spare ropes) have undergone an evolution.
Differences of the new GRILLON:
- the new rope developed for GRILLON, released after May 2018, has a diameter of 11 mm;
- the ropes for GRILLON sold before May 2018 have a diameter of 11.5 mm.
Perzl has tested the new 11 mm ropes installed in GRILLON before 2018 according to EN 358:1999 - the results are in compliance.
Petzl was unable to certify this new combination for the following reasons:
- certification is carried out before the product is placed on the market and not for products already sold;
- Regulation 2016/425, which replaces Directive 89/686 on the placing of PPE on the market, requires that the name and address of the manufacturer be indicated on the product and that the instructions for use be amended, which is not possible for products already sold;
- EN 795:1996 has been replaced by EN 795:2012, which will also require changes to the labelling and instructions for products already sold, which is also not possible.
