Clamp First Ascent Grit

First Ascent Grit - device for self-counting of the bending type.
When the user breaks down, the cam clamps the rope without damaging the braid.
Designed to work on a single rope with a diameter of 10.5-11 mm.
The geometry of the case provides a comfortable grip and smooth movement along the rope, both when lifting and descending, which is provided by the LOCK - UNLOCK switch.
In the LOCK position, the device is fixed on the rope in a comfortable position (an additional hole allows you to fix the carbine from unwanted switching).
In the UNLOCK position, it ensures smooth movement of the device along the rope.
Thanks to the sliding cheeks, it is possible to remove or install the Grit on a loaded rope.
Grit cam holds well on wet or icy rope
Features of working with First Ascent GRIT:
- attached to the rope with the cheeks apart;
- after fixing with a carbine, the jaws of the clamp completely cover the rope, making it impossible to fall out;
- the spring-loaded cam is fixed at the desired height and follows the user while moving up without the help of hands;
- in case of a breakdown or a sharp downward movement, the cam is automatically fixed on the rope.
Purpose of First Ascent Grit:
- as a backup safety device placed on the safety rope;
- as a blocking device for lifting.
