MANUFACTURER
Camp
Camp (C.A.M.P., Concezione Articoli Montagna Premana - mountain equipment from Premana) is an Italian company, one of the world's leading manufacturers of equipment for outdoor recreation and sports, mainly mountain views: rock climbing, rock climbing, trekking, caving, tourism, as well as industrial safety.
It was founded in 1889 in the north of Italy in the small village of Premana by the blacksmith Nicola Codega and initially specialized in the manufacture of forged products for everyday needs, in particular the production of bells for livestock. In 1920, the first ice axes under the brand name S.A.M.P. were made by order of the army, and after the start of cooperation with one of the leading climbers in Italy, Riccardo Cassen, he completely turned to the manufacture of sports equipment.
The most important characteristic of any climbing tool is the weight and weight reduction itself for maintaining all standards of strength, reliability, durability - one of the highlights of C.A.M.P. products Twenty years ago, C.A.M.P. set a carbine weight record - 33 grams, twenty years later in 2007, C.A.M.P. broke its record - a new The Nanowire carbine that appears weighs 28 grams! Currently, almost every section of the catalog has samples of record low weight.
C.A.M.P. also won respect as a brand of equipment for industrial needs: high-altitude work, rescue operations, the army and special services of many countries preferred a brand with a century of history.
Currently, C.A.M.P. is part of the CAMP Group, also combines the Cassin and CAMP Safety brands.
Now, at the beginning of the new millennium, C.A.M.P. is ruled by the fourth generation of the Codega family: Eddie, Paolo, Antonio, Giovanni, Isacco and Andrea. Like their predecessors, they do not change the company's strategy. Strategy of innovation, high quality and good brand name C.A.M.P.
